The Lindale Area

Lindale (population 5,097) is strategically located in northeast Texas at the intersection of Interstate 20 and U.S. Highway 69. This highway intersection has one of the highest traffic counts in northeast Texas. Commerce generated around this intersection is a significant driver of the local economy. Lindale’s strategic location played a big role in the decision by Target Corporation to choose Lindale for a 1.6 million sq ft distribution center that employs about 725 and is Lindale’s largest private employer. Distribution is a business recruitment target for the Lindale Economic Development Corporation, and plenty of space for new development is available in the Lindale Industrial Park, located adjacent to the Target Distribution Center.

Lindale schools are terrific. The Lindale Independent School District regularly scores among the top schools in the state, both academically and extracurricular. Families seek out opportunities to live in Lindale so their kids can attend Lindale schools. Tyler Junior College is also a great community partner, with a growing Lindale campus.

Lindale is 15 miles north of Tyler (population 96,000), county seat of Smith County. Lindale is the second most significant city in the Tyler/Smith County MSA. Population trends in Lindale continue to show steady growth. Population within 15 miles of Lindale is 137,032. Population within 30 miles of Lindale is 341,210 and is expected to grow to 366,012 by 2016, a 7:3% increase.

In addition to the favorable population trends, median household income continues to trend upward. For the immediate Lindale area, the household income is approximately $61,000. The kind of growth trends Lindale is experiencing creates a wealth of business opportunity. Lindale Industrial Park

Lindale has opened a new 120 acre industrial park. This new, modern Park is fully served with utilities and is ready for your development! Sites range in size from 2 to 40 acres. All parcels over 2 acres can be subdivided or put together to make a larger parcel. The park includes some sites that have I-20 frontage. It has excellent I-20 access at Harvey Road (CR 433).

In July 2014, Fed Ex Ground opened a new 163,000 sq ft distribution center in Lindale Industrial Park. Fed Ex Ground was the first tenant in the park. This facility serves a large portion of east Texas and employs about 130 year round. The distribution center is also a magnet for other businesses seeking to be near the Fed Ex Ground facility.
